Question: What do you get when you mix a dash of sugar, a pinch of spice and heaping handfuls of everything nice?
Answer: The new $56 everything great set by too faced Cosmetics.

From under the glittery pink Christmas tree at too faced headquarters comes this limited edition holiday Sephora exclusive — the big blockbuster kit from the too faced Christmas collection — and it sparkles with a hot pink makeup bag, three tiny Cruelty-Free Teddy Bear Hair brushes (two eye brushes and one for bronzing/blush), a step-by-step glamour guide with directions for a number of looks, a deluxe sample-sized tube (translation: slightly bigger than a regular sample size) of better Than Sex Mascara, and a festive, feminine palette filled with 20 eyeshadows, two blushes, a bronzer and highlighter.
In total, a $450 value.
The too faced everything great set eyeshadows…
Blushes, bronzer, highlighter, brushes and mascara…
Everything to me, from the hand-drawn artwork on the palette’s cover, to the disco glam pink makeup bag, to the makeup color choices, seems true to the too faced brand. Girly, glam and absolutely wearable…with a little extra sass thrown in for good measure (because one never knows when one will get the urge to start trouble).

The 20 eyeshadows? Dude, you could do so lots of different eye looks with this palette! roughly three quarters of them are neutrals…but not the kind of neutrals that make me want to hit the snooze button. among them are mattes, metallics and glitters in a range of warm and cool tones.
And just to keep things interesting, there are also splashes of pink, mauve, taupe and gold.
Swatches from the left: Turtle Dove, dream On, After Hours, Fawned of You and Knockout
Paper Roses, kindness Is Free, Mauvelous, Be You and secret Lovers
Heaven, shiny Happy, Honey Pot, Don’t clear up and Girly
I know I’ll be able do a lot with these neutrals, and there’s enough variety within the palette to be able to finish lots of different eye looks without having to incorporate eyeshadows from other palettes.
In the bottom row, too faced also grouped together several jewel-toned shimmers. All fun, bright and bold shades.
Totally Fetch, live It Up, too Glam, Head Over Heels and chocolate Moon
One of my favorites here is too Glam, the emerald green shade. It must be best for pops of color on the lids.
Just as an FYI, though, when I wear these brights, I find that it’s better for me to do my eye makeup first, as I detect a small amount of fallout (very little).
Blush in sweet Pink, blush in Papa Don’t Peach, Bronzer in chocolate Soleil and Highlighter in inner Light
I also like the blushes, bronzer, highlighter and mascara, but the brushes, eh. I think they’re cute and fine for quick touchups, but I wouldn’t depend on them every day. They’re minis, and they feel a little awkward in my hands…
Wearing too Glam (lids), chocolate Moon (outer corner), Fawned mixed with Knockout (crease), dream On (brow bone), shiny delighted (inner half of lids) and live It Up (lower lash line)
Lips are Shimmering spice Spice baby from the too faced Under the Mistletoe holiday set
Wearing the blushes in sweet Pink and Papa Don’t Peach on the apples of my cheeks, chocolate Soleil Bronzer to contour and inner Light Highlighter to highlight
What a well-rounded set! — especially for $56. I see this as a good place to start for people new to the too faced line (although long-time too faced palette collectors may already have some of these shades in their makeup drawer) and/or appeal babes trying to find holiday presents to push their makeup agenda on friends who haven’t yet seen the light.
